The Very Magnetic Clock Co.

Welcome to the new home of The Very Magnetic Clock Co. VMCC represents a merging of both the mechanical and digital realms of timekeeping. Here you'll find software for your computer (or iPhone™ / iPad™) as well as beautiful hand made vintage desktop electric clocks for purchase.

Desktop Clocks & Software

I love those old clocks. I collect them, fix them, I even wrote software that makes your computer or iPhone™ / iPad™ look like one... With that in mind the next logical step was to start making my own vintage clocks. Ok, well there's no time machine in the workshop but I have tried to capture some of my favorite designs from the past (as well as some of my own) and give them new life in modern plastics and new electric movements. So in addition to software, I offer a selection of beautiful Art Deco styled vintage electric clocks reminiscent of those produced during the golden age of art deco home decor and American manufacturing.

In some instances I've started completely from scratch, in others I've started with one of my favorite old clock designs, modified and recast it. These clocks are all molded, poured, and assembled here though, in a fashion similar to early plastics like Catalyn and can be had in a variety of opaque and semi-translucent colors, with or without a rich color swirling. In addition each clock includes a large selection of face styles to chose from, some classically Art Deco, some not even remotely... So unlike the original clocks you can tailor your own to suite your personal tastes.

Be aware that for the moment we're not selling these, I need a bit more time to get caught up with the new site and a number of other things that have happened but they'll be available again soon. Promise.

iPhone™ / iPad™ Software

Those of you who have visited the prior web site or purchased "Timpieces" know that we had a very well received product on the iPhone and iPad in the app store. Unfortunately my good friend and partner in that venture, Terry Longrie, passed away unexpectedly in December of 2010. In addition to losing a good friend I was, owing to the vagaries of legal contracts, forced to temporarily remove that product from the market.

Thanks again to all you who purchased "Timepieces" and please be aware that I'll be returning shortly with a new version with some of the features you have been requesting as well as a number of new and interesting timepieces for you to enjoy.
